Top Trends for Fall 2011

I go back to school in less than a week and it's about that time that fall trends are coming out to play.  Here are my predictions for the hottest trends for this fall.

High-Waisted, Flare Denim

This 1970's look is the style for denim right now.  I am loving it with cropped boho tops or with a sheer blouse tucked in.  The only way to wear them is with platform heels.

'77 Hi-Rise Flare Jean from American Eagle Outfitters on Sale for $39.99!

Vintage Platforms

As mentioned earlier platforms are what to wear with the denim trend this fall, but this style also is a great way to warm up summer dresses with tights or knee highs.

Magid by Jessica Simpson for $89.00

Sheer Blouses

This is one of my favorite trends this fall because you can wear them so many different ways.  They can be worn with high-waisted denim tucked in with a skinny belt and platforms, worn out with cigarette pants, or to work with a pencil skirt and cardigan.

Joie 'Hartford' Silk Blouse at Nordstrom for $208.00

Pencil Skirts

This is a staple for work this fall.  The look is to wear a patterned or colored pencil skirt with a matching blouse and cardigan.  You get extra points in you wear a matching skinny belt around the waist and the blouse is sheer.

What's In My Bag?

As you probably already know Nordstrom is having their Anniversary Sale right now and it is one of the best sales out there.  I was able to check out the preview sale, here are some of the things I picked up!
Hinge Smocked Front Silk Blouse on sale for $64.90 from $98.00

They are showing tons of sheer blouses this fall.  I plan to wear mine tucked into high waisted jeans or out with black, tight, cropped pants.

Pleione Sheer Floral Blouse on Sale for $44.90 from $68.00

Another sheer top I picked up.

Tory Burch 'Ambrose' Cap Toe Flannel Flat for $169.90 from $255.00

I am a huge fan of Tory Burch, her flats are like wearing slippers to work.  I liked these because they could go with anything.

Sperry Top-Sider Angelfish Linen/Leopard Pony

I couldn't find these on the Nordstrom website but mybe you could check in the store.

I love Sperry shoes because they are so comfortable and the leopard on these makes them interesting.

Tory Burch Leather Tote on Sale for $328.90 from $495.00

This bag is a great work piece, especially when you bring work home.

Tory Burch Leather Continental Wallet on Sale for $149.90 from $225.00

Marc Jacobs Quilted Ginger Shoulder Bag

This is another item I think must be sold out because I couldn't find it on the website.

I am loving cross-body bags right now because they are comfortable and easy to tote around.

Halogen Sleevless Ruffle Blouse on Sale for $45.50 from $69.00

This is a great work shirt because it could go under a sweater or jacket or could be worn out with cropped pants.

Chanel Vernis Nail Colour for $25.00

This color is so fall to me and every time you look at it the color changes.

Out and About

Survey Cafe
Bonita Springs, FL

Survey is one of our favorite breakfast spots in Bonita, so it seems right to make it my first restaurant review from Florida.  Survey Cafe is located off Old 41 right across from the Wonder Gardens.  It is truly a find because it is tucked away from the highway.
Survey offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but the best time to go is in the early morning to check out their breakfast.

There is a beautiful patio to sit outside and enjoy the sun, but the best part is that they are dog friendly.

and the Breakfast wrap

Vote: Love it or Hate it?

Do you like Kelly Osbourne as the new face for Material Girl?

If you haven't heard of Material Girl, it's the new line by Madonna and daughter, Lourdes.  Taylor Momsen started out as the face of the brand new line and they evidently decided to replace her with Kelly Osbourne.
Kelly has a new banging body, but I thought the line was supposed to be geared to teens and Kelly is 26.

Material Girl can be found at Macy's.
What do you think?

Top Trends for Summer 2011

A note to my readers,
Out and About with Shasta will be making some changes.  I am moving to sunny Florida soon and I will continue my blog there.  I am planning to include features on FL night life, FL fashion and I plan to continue my ever popular Sex and the University articles.  Please keep reading!

XOXXO,
Shasta

Since I am moving to South West FL I need to vamp up my summer wardrobe!  Here's some key pieces for summer!
Romper!

I am loving the romper look for summer, dress it up with a blazer and heels for night time or pair with bangles and sandals for day.

This one is floral which is another huge trend for summer.

Forever 21 $19.80

Embellished Thong Sandal!

This trend has been around for a while but I love that it has stuck.  These look great with the season's new colorful shorts or rompers.  I also love turquoise on shoes because it really goes with everything.

Michael Kors Pool Python Printed 'Cassia' thong sandal $357.00

Bright Colored Shorts!

I screamed out loud the other day when I saw the collection of bright colored shorts that J.Crew had displayed for Spring.  These fit great and are offered in so many different colors.  They look great with a skinny belt, v-neck tee and a cardigan.  My favorite is the shocking pink, which would look great paired with navy blue.

J.Crew 3" Chino Short in Shocking Pink $42.50

The Framed Satchel!

This style bag is all the rage right now.  If it is quilted and has a shoulder strap it's even better.  I love this one from Marc Jacobs because it's neutral in color which is another huge trend right now.

Wear this all summer long with casual and dressy.

Marc Jacobs 'Quilting Stam' Leather Satchel in Blush $1,350.00

  Wide Leg/Flare Trousers!

The part of me that is more comfortable in wide leg trousers loves that these have come back!  The part of me that has totally re-done my wardrobe to be wide-leg free hates that this has come back.  Either way it's a great look for work trousers.  Tuck in a button-up or dress down with a cotton v-neck.  These are Juicy Couture jeans, and surprisingly Juicy denim is ultra comfortable!  I own three pairs of Juicy jeans.

Bird by Juicy Couture 'Indigo' Flared Stretch Denim Trousers $228.00

Maxi Dress!

This is another trend that has been around for a while but has stuck.  I have a strapless black and white maxi dress and I wear it all the time in the summer.  I love to pair mine with embellished thong sandals and a jean jacket.  This is a trend I recommend to buy for less because there are some great deals out there and they look great too.

Target Mossimo Supply Co. Juniors Sleeveless Maxi Dress Pongee Tint $15.39
